

Mary (Giglio-Bartolozzi) Porri, 92, formerly of Newington, died peacefully, Monday, (March 21, 2011). She was born November 4, 1918 in Canicattini Bagni province of Siracusa, Italy and was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Lucia (Pirrotta) Giglio. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred Bartolozzi and second husband, Joseph V. Porri. Mary worked for the former Royal Typewriter and later for the Wiremold Company, retiring many years ago. She was a communicant of St. Luke Church, Hartford and a member of the Newington Senior Center and the South End Senior Center. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Sullivan and husband, Jack of Middletown and Rachel and Paul Gionfriddo of Newington; a sister, Connie Bitterman of Wethersfield; grandchildren, Mark Gionfriddo and wife, Margaret Frier, Steven Gionfriddo and wife, Linda, Brian Sullivan and wife, Yolanda, Robin Edman and husband, Eric and Tony Sullivan; great grandchildren, Ben, Vinnie, Brian, Nicholas, Jake, Taylor and Abigail as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Santina Pirrotta and Ann Ross. Mary's family would like to thank the staff at the Monsignor Bojnowski Manor and New Britain General Hospital, 4th Floor Central for the care, compassion and love shown to Mary and her family during her illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, (March 24) at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
