

Mary (Palagano) Gorman, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late James Gorman, died peacefully, Friday, (June 4, 2010). She was born February 26, 1924 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Donato and Anna (Labalestra) Palagano. Mary was a longtime, faithful communicant of St. Patrick & St. Anthony Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. She is survived by a son, James Gorman and his wife, Mary of Rocky Hill, a daughter, Joanne Bernier and her husband, John of Cape Coral, Florida, two sisters, Carmela (Millie) Tolisano and Josephine D'Atri both of Hartford. Mary was a devoted and loving grandmother to Christine Blackler and her husband Keith, Cheryl Martens and her husband Tim, Jeffery, John and Jennifer Bernier as well as her two great grandchildren Derek Blackler and Tyler Martens. Mary is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by a son, Lawrence Anthony Gorman and a sister, Irene DiTommaso. In her earlier years Mary was employed as a book keeper at Popular Market and Muckies. But she most enjoyed her job as a cashier at Bliss Market where she met many lifetime friends. Funeral services will leave Tuesday June 8th at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick & St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
