

Mary Jane (Damiano) Lombardo, 78, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 31, 2017 in the arms of her loving and devoted daughter Lona. She was born November 20, 1938 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Patricia (Parente) Damiano. She loved her childhood growing up on Campfield Avenue in Hartford, spending time with her family. Mary Jane was formerly employed by the Traveler’s Insurance Company for over 25 years and also worked for the Speaker of the House at the CT Legislative office building. She was a member of and very active with the South End Ladies Democratic Club, Young Italian American Association and the Wethersfield Democratic Town Committee. Mary Jane was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Luke Church, Hartford. She enjoyed shopping at the mall and bus trips to the casinos in CT and Atlantic City with her sister Christine and cousin Olivia and their friends. Mary Jane will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lona M. Barone and husband Stephen of Wethersfield. She was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Patty Ann Lombardo; her son, Frank “Frankie” Lombardo, Jr.; her sister, Christine Bagdasarian and her brother, Carmine Damiano. Besides her daughter, she also leaves her adored grandchildren, Edward F. Lombardo and wife Kristin, Nicole M. Lombardo, Daniella M. Barone and Frank N. Barone; three cherished great-grandchildren, Dominic, Olivia and Madelyn; her brother-in-law, Arthur Bagdasarian; two nephews, Dean and Mark Bagdasarian and their families and several cousins. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Glastonbury Healthcare Center for the care, love and compassion shown to Mary Jane and her family.
Funeral service will be Tuesday (September 5) at 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning prior to the Mass, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
