Mary Ellen Ulrich

Mary Ellen Ulrich, 58, of Hartford, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Born on July 16, 1956 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Norine (Higgins) Ulrich in Hartford. Mary Ellen worked for the Hartford Courant for many years. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her devoted children, Elizabeth Ann Motes of Hartford and David Matthew Motes and his wife Amy of Rocky Hill and her three adored grandchildren, Joey, Abbie and Luke. Mary Ellen is also survived by her brother, Robert Ulrich and his wife Linda of Arkansas and her aunt, Carol Higgins of Hartford. She was predeceased by her former husband, David Motes. Funeral services will be Monday (July 6) at 12 noon at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Family and friends may call prior to the service on Monday, from 10-12 p.m., at the funeral chapel. The burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
