

Mary (Wolanin) Mull, 93, of Wethersfield, wife of the late Benedict F. “Bill” Mull, died peacefully, Monday, August 5, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. She was born August 24, 1919 in Avon and was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia
( Januszewski) Wolanin. Mary was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1937. In 1945 Mary and her husband established Mull Bros Inc. Oil Company. She retired in 1958. She was a longtime faithful parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. She was an avid golfer and a member of Wethersfield Country Club and Ft. Lauderdale Country Club. She participated in many traveling senior golf tournaments throughout Connecticut representing Wethersfield Country Club. Her love for golf was rewarded by a hole-in-one two times. Mary enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook; her recipe for homemade pierogis was published several times in the Hartford Courant. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Polish National Home Bowling League. Her smile and friendly personality will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Klein and husband, John of Wethersfield, son, Donald F. Mull and wife, Marsha of Lone Jack, Missouri, and Thomas A. Mull and wife, Lisa of Wethersfield, nine grandchildren, Alison Grande and husband, Robert, Deborah Lashar and husband, John, Denise Bayles and husband, Christopher, Jeffrey Klein and wife, Amber, Lisa Tilley and husband, Craig, Kevin Mull and wife, Carissa, Michael Mull, Angela Mull and Marybeth Mull, seven great grandchildren, Robert, Madeline, Nicholas, Olivia Grande, Lilly, Lucy, and Lindsay Lashar, sister-in-law, Florence Wolanin of Florida and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Chester Wolanin. A very special thank you to her devoted caregiver and friend, Maria Krawiec, the residents and staff at Cedar Mountain Commons, and the nursing staff at Hartford Hospital, for all the love, care and compassion shown to Mary and her family.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. The burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
