

Born in Hartford on July 17, 1954, Michael was the son of the late Joseph and Rita (Fournier) Amoruso. He was predeceased by his brother, Jay C. Amoruso in 2011.
Michael was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served in the US & Germany from 1973-1976.
He loved cooking and received his culinary certificate from the CT Culinary Institute in 1995. He worked for many years at Brookdale Senior Living Facility in West Hartford, CT where he made many life-long friendships with co-workers and residents.
Appreciating people from all walks of life, Michael will be remembered as an empathetic person of great integrity and generosity, always ready to lend a hand to friends and strangers, not to mention the many stray animals he took in throughout his lifetime. Michael will also be remembered for his spirit of giving back, taking on many volunteer roles with AA.
An adventurous spirit, Michael appreciated the beauty of the world around him and the freedom of the open road. He took frequent road trips all across the country with his beloved wife, Donna.
Michael loved working on his motorcycles, reading science fiction, going to the movies, cooking, listening to music from his abundant record collection, playing Scrabble, and spending time with his friends and family.
Michael is survived and will be dearly missed by his sister, Nancy Knapp, sister-in-law Jane Amoruso, nieces Grace and Rachael Amoruso, Chloe Knapp, and nephew Tate Knapp, all of Wethersfield, as well as a loving extended family and friends.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2023, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a Prayer Service and words of remembrance at 11:00 a.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial with full military honors will follow in Village Cemetery, Old Wethersfield.
