Michael J. Baldassario, 77 of Manchester, loving husband of the late Leona (Schilling) Baldassario, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 18, 2022 with his family by his side. Michael was born July 3, 1945, and raised in Hartford, one of four children to the late Charles and Isabella (Erardi) Baldassario.
Michael worked in the security field as an operations manager for over 30 years. Most recently, he was a crossing guard for the town of Manchester. He was an active member of St. Bridget Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Manchester, where he coordinated the parish food drive for MACC for over 20 years. Michael was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, as well as the college of Notre Dame.
Michael will forever be remembered by his loving children, Andrew Baldassario and his wife Amanda of Manchester and Angela Johnson and her husband Christopher of Tolland and his six adored grandchildren, Alexander, Brian, Dylan, Grayson, Vincent and Alena. He is also survived by his sister, Marlene Foss of West Hartford, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Michael was predeceased by a granddaughter, Christine Johnson; a brother, Charles Baldassario; a sister, Catherine Poggie and an aunt, Grace Bonee.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, September 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 23 at 12 p.m. in St. Bridget Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 80 Main Street, Manchester. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery (Shrine of the Apostles Section), Bloomfield.
