Michele Ann (White) Kalousdian, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her children on September 17. She was the loving wife of the late Peter Kalousdian. She was born in Hartford on March 26, daughter of the late Marion (Phenix) and Thomas White. She often spoke of her treasured childhood memories from Mather Street, and most especially the time spent with Grampy Phenix. She attended St. Michael’s School and Holy Trinity where she excelled at volleyball and softball. She loved Wethersfield, feeling especially blessed for settling with her husband on Griswold Road, to raise their family, surrounded by friends and neighbors they loved. They celebrated 49 years of marriage and lived a beautiful life full of faith. They also enjoyed summers at their home in Cornfield Point, Old Saybrook for the past 40 years. Throughout her life Michele accomplished much and held many positions. Her first and most important job, her God given role, a Mother. As her children grew, she began to work outside the home. She was employed by the Rocky Hill Board of Education for 17 years. During that time, she worked in the science department as part of the botany program. She shared her love and knowledge with the students while working with them in the greenhouses growing an abundant variety of plants. Michele also worked at the Royal Typewriter, Fischer Bindery and Bliss Market. She was selfless, always giving and caring for others. Her home was a warm place to gather and all felt welcome. Mom cooked for everyone and her creations were second to none. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out, and there wasn’t anyone who met her that wasn’t touched by her. She was an active member of the Church of the Incarnation, an enthusiastic supporter of the prayer shawl ministry and the chairperson of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner. She was also a Leader with the Winding Brook 4-H club for many years. An incredibly gifted woman, she shared her many talents.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, Victoria Kalousdian, Veronica and husband Steven Andrea, Peter Kalousdian, Jr., all of Wethersfield and her adoring grandchildren, Montana Rose, Grace Marie, and Samuel who affectionately call her “Ma”. We were blessed to have her as our mother. She will be missed by her many friends that she considered her extended family.
She leaves behind her sisters, Margaret and Joseph Downey, Claudia and Robert Schuberth, Christine Odiorne, Norma and John Phelps; her brothers, Jude and Thomas White and sisters-in-law, Victoria and Ethel Kalousdian.
Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
