Michelle “Shelly” Massicotte Braman walked into Heaven on Monday, September 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Shelly was a woman of strong faith. She put God first in everything she did in her life, and she wanted to share His love with others so they could experience His faithfulness. Shelly accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a child and has lived her life to reflect His love. Next to her faith, Shelly cherished being a wife and mother more than words could express. She was married to the love of her life, Don, for more than 19 years. Shelly's greatest joy was her family. Together with Don, raising Emma and Carly and watching them grow has been one of Shelly's most rewarding treasures in life. Shelly took pride in maintaining her family’s home, creating an atmosphere that matched who she was as a person—welcoming, safe, peaceful, and full of God’s love and joy. Shelly had a way of making others laugh with her sense of humor. She was not afraid to do silly things to bring others joy or to help them feel included. She also enjoyed tending to her plants and took care of each one with extra love and care. In the last several years, Shelly discovered a new appreciation for birds, and it thrilled her to guess what types were stopping by her windows. Snuggling with her golden retriever, Annie, a good cup of coffee, or a piece of fine chocolate could also bring a smile to her beautiful face. Shelly grew up in East Hartford, CT and graduated from East Hartford High School in 1998. She worked in the financial industry and for The Hartford for several years. Shelly left her career to focus on her family and health. Over the years, she courageously shared her health battles through blogging and social media to support, encourage, and bring hope to others as they faced life’s unexpected challenges. This act of honest, transparent bravery provided Shelly the opportunity to make a positive impact on many lives. Several people have shared that her journey and faith touched, inspired, comforted, and uplifted them. Her family and friends will always know her as a warrior, a fighter, and a woman of deep faith. Shelly will be forever missed by her beloved husband, Donald James Braman and their two daughters, Emma Grace and Carly Joy. She also leaves behind her parents, with whom she adored greatly, John and Donna (Allen) Massicotte. Shelly is also survived by her brother Bill Pellicane Jr. and nephews Alex and Liam, her mother-in-law, Mary and her husband Leigh Chapman, her brother-in-law, William Lawrence Braman III and his wife Debra Braman and their son, William IV, as well as a large loving extended family and many dear friends. The Braman Family will be holding a Celebration of Life ceremony for Shelly on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Crossroads Community Cathedral located at 1492 Silver Lane in East Hartford, CT. All are welcome to attend visiting hours at 10:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
