

Miguelina LaBoy, 87, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 23,2026, surrounded by family. A woman of boundless energy and a generous heart, Miguelina lived a life rich with love, laughter, and devotion to others.Born on September 18, 1938, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the cherished daughter of the late Jose A. Quinones and Irene Quinones (née Marquez).
Miguelina was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan who embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. In her free time, she loved bingo nights with friends, trips to the casino, listening to music, dancing, and traveling. A true giver, she embodied love in its purest form and never took life for granted, appreciating all it had to offer. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving children, Ramon Jr., Leonardo, Maria, Lourdes, and Lissette, daughter-in-law, Margarita LaBoy, and son-in-law, Jorge Rodriguez; her brothers, Jose, Victor, and Alfredo; and her sister, Carmen. Miguelina was a proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ramon, and her cherished son, Jose.
Family and friends are invited to gather at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard on Thursday, January 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., where a Prayer Service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will take place thereafter in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Miguelina will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant love of life, and the deep, unwavering devotion she had to her family and friends. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her love will live on in all who were blessed to have known her.
