Mildred “Millie” Teresa (Fazzino) Ferrantino, 86, of Hartford and Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Born in Hartford on August 12, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of the late Anna (Giglio) and Angelo Fazzino. Millie grew up on Front Street in Hartford, where she attended Bulkeley High School. She retired after many years of service at The Travelers Insurance Company. Millie loved her day trips to Mohegan Sun, card games, and her dog Abbey. She enjoyed going for rides and her “Sunday Fun Days” with her children and grandchildren. Throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s, music was a constant joy for her.
More than anything, Millie’s passion was her family. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be forever missed by her children, Annmarie Mancini of Wethersfield, Frank Ferrantino and his wife Cindi of Newington, and her daughter, Lisa Laurito and John Fradianni of Wethersfield. She will also be missed by her three grandchildren, Jason Laurito (Megan) of Glastonbury, Teresa Shea (Ryan) of Windsor, and Michelle Gaddis (Matt) of Nixa, MO and her five great-grandchildren, Cody, Eve, and Nicholas Laurito, Baylee and Matilyn Gaddis. Along with her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, Millie is survived by her many nieces and nephews, and her many loving cousins. She is also survived by her ex-husband, Frank “Sonny” Ferrantino. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Lucille Maxwell and her son-in-law, Joseph Mancini. A special thank you to the nurses and staff members of Avery Heights for the wonderful care of Millie. “Here’s to you mom, put another nickel in.”
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday (July 31) from 9-10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Parish (Corpus Christi Church), 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
