Nancy (Petro) Morelli, 77, of Hartford, passed away Friday, (October 9, 2009) at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her devoted family. She passed into the tender loving embrace of her cherished husband of 52 years, Joseph L. Morelli, who has been waiting patiently to be reunited with her since he predeceased her in 2005. They will forever enjoy the sunny and warm skies of Heaven, hand in hand, apart nevermore. She was born in Hartford on January 20, 1932, daughter of the late Maria N. Pietroria and Serafino Pietroria. She was the proud mother of her daughter, Carol D. Morelli of Hartford, and her son and daughter in law, Atty. Joseph C. Morelli and Debra A. Morelli of Wethersfield and glowing grandmother of three wonderful grandchildren, Joseph W. Morelli, Christopher M. Morelli, and Steven D. Morelli, all of Wethersfield and each of whom loved their grandmother dearly. She is survived by a brother, Nicholas Petro and his wife, Nadine, of Hartford, and was predeceased by her brother Salvatore Petro and his wife, Lucy Petro, both of Rocky Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews all of whom she held dear to her heart. She graduated from Bulkeley High School and worked at the Aetna and Woolworth's in Hartford where she met and fell in love with her husband. She spent 45 glorious summers at her cottage at Chalker Beach in Old Saybrook where she enjoyed the company of many friends and family while creating memories that we all will fondly cherish. She took pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren whose needs she always put ahead of her own. She was also an avid fan of the UCONN women's basketball team and never missed a game. She will be greatly missed by those of us who loved her and we derive great comfort in the knowledge that she is now with her husband, whom she deeply missed after his passing. We thank her for all she did for us during our lives and we will never forget her. May God welcome and bless you, our precious mother. Watch over us sweet angel and rest in peace until we meet again. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Lawrence O'Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m., at the chapel. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www. desopo.com
