

Nicholas A. DeFrino, 81, of Rocky Hill, loving husband of Laura (Seio) DeFrino for 56 years, died suddenly, Thursday (September 29, 2011) at Hartford Hospital. He was born June 23, 1930 in Hartford and was the son of the late Anthony and Rose (Falcone) DeFrino. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Nick owned and operated Bliss Market in Wethersfield and prior to that Hartford for over 60 years. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Besides his wife, Laura he is survived by his daughter, Paula Olsen and husband, Robert of Cromwell, son, John DeFrino of Chester, daughters, Crissy Saponare and husband, Lenny of Rocky Hill and Mary Crosen of Wethersfield, grandchildren, Nicholas and Kelly Olsen, Laura and Nichole Saponare and Dylan and Luke DeFrino, brothers, Rocco DeFrino, Francis DeFrino, DDS and sister, Julia Sponzo as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles M. DeFrino, sister, Ann Montano and son-in-law, Douglas Crosen.
Funeral service will be Monday (Sept. 3) at 8:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
