Nicola Vignone, 48, of Berlin, beloved husband of his high school sweetheart, Lisa Ann (Kopycinski) Vignone, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2018. Nicola, affectionately called “Nick” by all who knew him, was born in Hartford on July 15, 1970 and was the son of the late Michele and Giacondina “Jackie” (Tedeschi) Vignone. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Cristina Vignone. Nick was a lifelong resident of Berlin, graduating from Berlin High School with the Class of 1988. Nick worked for many years as a Produce Manager for Stop and Shop.
Nick was an altruistic family man who was always eager to help others. He spent much of his free time gardening and doing home improvement projects. In addition, Nick was an epicurean who enjoyed cooking, but mostly he loved spending time with his family. He truly was a devoted husband and father.
In addition to his wife, Nick leaves behind three beloved sons: Michael, Nicolas and Matthew. He also leaves cousins John and Frank Arcari, and longtime childhood friend Michael Pauley - all three of whom he considered brothers. In addition, Nick leaves his loving family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services for Nick will take place on Thursday, December 20, 2018, leaving from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel (277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield) at 9:15 am for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church (48 Cottage Street, East Berlin). Burial will immediately follow in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
