

Norma (Lowry) Mazzucchi, 92, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Demo Mazzucchi, passed away peacefully on Thursday (June 30, 2011). Born on July 14, 1918 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Grace (Phelps) Lowry. Prior to her retirement in 1981, she worked for more than 25 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a buyer. She enjoyed traveling and reading and was a fantastic seamstress. Norma was a former member of the Luna Club in Hartford. She is survived by her son, Ralph Mazzucchi and his wife Anita of Manchester; her daughter, Wendy Grant and her husband Gary of Glastonbury; four adored grandchildren: Lisa Burke and her husband David, Jennifer Morris and her husband Rick, Ryan Grant and Justin Grant and his wife Julie Ann; and four cherished great-grandchildren: Andrew and Benjamin Burke and Caroline and Kathryn Morris. She is also survived by her brother and sisters, Walter Lowry, June Lowry and Patricia Brent, all of Florida, Virginia Hennessey of Missouri; her sisters-in-law, Helen DeLucco of Wethersfield and Agnes Mazzucchi of East Hartford, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Lombardi and a brother, Edmund Lowry.
Funeral services will leave Wednesday (July 6) at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul’s Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
