Norman George Beaulier, 85, of Wethersfield, Connecticut, passed away Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at The Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. He was born in Ashland, Maine on January 29th 1939, the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Carney) Beaulier.
Norman was the husband of Louise (Abbott) Beaulier for 63 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Robin Beaulier of Wethersfield, Connecticut, Cathy VanGuilder of Hartford, Connecticut, and Carol Plourde and her husband Robert of East Hartford, Connecticut; his Grandchildren, Joshua VanGuilder, Rebeca VanGuilder, and Tyler Plourde; and his Great-granddaughter Makayla VanGuilder. He is also survived by his sister Mary Pericolosi of Pinckneyville Illionois and nieces and nephews. Norman was predeceased by his siblings, Dana Beaulier, Geneva Carney, and Darrell Beaulier.
Norman was always a hardworking, strong man who left school at an early age to help his family by working in the logging camps in the great northern woods of Aroostook County, Maine. He loved to return back to his hometown with his family for vacations.
He moved to Connecticut in the 50’s to become a tradesman in Carpentry with the Union Local 43 of Hartford. Throughout Hartford County he helped construct many integral bridges, highways, and buildings, including the Union Station rebuild. Whenever we were in downtown Hartford he would point out all the buildings he helped build, it was impressive.
Norman enjoyed many summer days on his boat. One of his favorite things was a good day out fishing. He also enjoyed trips to Block Island but even just spending the weekends on the boat and never leaving the Marina was something he loved too. Many great memories were made here.
He was loved dearly and he will be greatly missed.
Friends and relatives may greet Norman’s family on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.
