

Olga Secondina (Colasacco) Spera, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Teodoro Spera, passed away Saturday, (July 23, 2011). She was born October 1, 1925 in Capestrano, province of L'Aquila, Italy the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela (DiSano) Colasacco. In 1958 she came to America with her son and daughter to join her husband. She worked diligently to provide a good future for her family. Prior to her retirement Olga was employed at Hartford Public High School. Her greatest passion was her family, to which she was whole heartedly devoted. She took much pride in her children and grandchildren and spent time with each of them and their families, enjoying Sunday dinners, family vacations and many special moments. She touched many lives and made a positive impact on them. Her legacy wasn't of possessions; her legacy was of love, generosity and caring. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation and kept the faith for her family. So many people were blessed to have had this loving and caring person in their lives. She will be greatly missed and will live on in our hearts forever. Olga is survived by Teodoro, her husband of 64 years; a son, Vincent Spera and his wife Sherian of Wethersfield; a daughter Nadia Chagnon and her husband Gerald of Wethersfield; four brothers, Guido Colasacco and his wife Adria of Wethersfield, Gregorio Colasacco of Wethersfield, Mario Colasacco of Bari, Italy, and Battista Colasacco and his wife Elsa of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; a sister Palmina Caroso of Wethersfield; a sister-in-law Maria Colasacco of Hartford; four grandchildren, Shannon Peters and her husband John of Tolland, Jennifer Garrity and her husband Anthony of Cromwell, Scott Chagnon of Wethersfield and Kelly Chagnon of Wethersfield; three beloved great grandchildren John Peters II, Morgan Peters and Madison Garrity, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Olga was predeceased by a brother Alberto Colasacco; a brother-in-law Antonio Caroso and two sisters-in-law Maria Colasacco and Flora Colasacco.
Funeral services will leave Wednesday (July 27, 2011) at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Olga's family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Hartford Hospital, especially CB5 for their exceptional and generous care that she received during her illness.
