Paola “Paula” (Pirruccio) Sbriglio, 89, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 53 years of the late Michele “Michael” Sbriglio, passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side on Friday, March 13, 2026. Born in Italy on March 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Santina (Alacata) Pirruccio and had resided in Wethersfield for the last 56 years. A talented seamstress Paula lived and worked in Milan for three years prior to coming to the U.S., where she dedicated her life to raising her daughters. In addition to sewing, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, especially to Las Vegas, being outdoors, going to the local casinos and spending time with friends. She also loved flowers, especially roses, and butterflies. Paula was sweet and kind-hearted; her neighbors called her “Ma” or “Bellezza.” A devout Catholic, she was a longtime faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield. More than anything, Paula cherished time spent with her family.
She will be forever missed by her two daughters, Sandy and Angela Sbriglio of Wethersfield, with whom she made her home, as well as many neighbors and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Paula was predeceased by all of her siblings.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 17 from 10-11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield.
