

Paolo Ferla, 87, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 62 years of Adeline (Pirruccio) Ferla, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 11, 2026 Born in Palazzolo Acreide, province of Siracusa, Sicily on May 1, 1939, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Antonina (Guastella) Ferla. Paolo came to the U.S. in 1964. He started his working career as a car detailer at Pierce Buick and eventually became a salesman there for many years. His hard work and dedication to customer service earned him top salesman year after year. He eventually moved on to work at Morande Ford and then Monaco Ford from where he eventually retired.
He loved spending his summers in his garden, where he took great pride in growing and cultivating just about every vegetable imaginable. A lifelong member of the Tricolor Bowling League, Tuesday nights were reserved for duckpin bowling, a tradition he cherished throughout the years. At the Italian dinner banquets, he was always ready to take to the dance floor and show just how much he loved to dance. Yet, above all the things that brought him happiness, nothing compared to his family. They were the center of his world, and the love he had for them was immeasurable. His family will forever cherish the memories they made together and carry his love with them always.
In addition to his devoted wife Adeline, Paolo will be forever missed by his two children, Antonella Catricala and husband Rocco of Wethersfield, CT and Carmelo Ferla and wife Allison of Rocky Hill, CT; his five adored grandchildren, Vincenzo Catricala and wife Kara of Radford, VA, Thomas Catricala and wife Julia of Southington, CT, Veronica Catricala and Fiancé John of Wethersfield, CT, Brianna Ferla and Paolo Ferla and his cherished great-grandson, Levi Catricala. He is also survived by his brother, Giuseppe Ferla; three sisters, Carmela Fiducia, Maria Ferla and husband Salvatore and Elvira Infantino and husband Paolo, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother
Salvatore Ferla; his sister-in-law, Nella Ferla; brother-in-law, Giuseppe Fiducia and his nephew, Paolo Fiducia.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, September 16 at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation of Christ the King Parish, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
