Patricia Ann (Campise) Amenta, 83, of Old Lyme, beloved wife of 63 years to Richard M. Amenta, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at home with her family by her side. Patricia was born in Hartford on August 3, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen (Kavalski) Campise.
Patricia grew up in Hartford and graduated from Bulkeley High School. She and her husband later settled in Wethersfield, where they raised their family.
A member of the ELKS, Patricia was a woman of simple pleasures who was rarely seen without a Dunkin’ coffee in her hand. She found great joy in cooking and tending to her garden, but her true heart belonged to her family. A devoted wife and mother, she was known affectionately to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by her nickname, “Mema.” She cherished every moment spent watching her family grow.
In addition to her husband Richard, Patricia leaves her three children: Lori Genovese and her husband Sebastian of Rocky Hill; Richard Amenta and his wife Nancy of Westbrook; and Jason Amenta of Old Lyme. She also leaves her six adored grandchildren: Ashley Amenta, Nancy Amenta, Arianna Genovese, Gina Genovese, Quinn Amenta, and Selma Amenta; and three cherished great-grandchildren: Christopher Amenta, Olivia Amenta, and Lilianna Tufano. She is further survived by her sister, Joann Carrasco and her husband Raymond of Florida, and her aunt, Lillian Ratti of East Hartford.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Christ the King Parish at Incarnation Church, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, CT. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s name to Wethersfield UNICO, P.O. Box 290370 Wethersfield, CT, 06129.
