Patsy Joseph Corraccio

Patsy Joseph Corraccio, 77, of Hartford, beloved husband for 50 years of Beverly (Bell) Corraccio, died peacefully surrounded by his devoted family, Thursday, (January 5, 2006). He was born October 24, 1928 in Hartford and was the son of the late Silverio and Mary (Spirito) Corraccio. He was a life long resident of Hartford and was a US Army, Korean War veteran. He retired in 1994 from the H.P. Hood, Inc. after 34 years of dedicated employment. Patsy was active with the South End Murphy Little League for many years, where he was a manager for the P.A.L. team. He was an avid and loyal sports fan and never gave up hope that one day he would see his beloved Boston Red Sox win the World Series. He was also a fan of the New York Giants and the men and women's UCONN basketball teams. Patsy was a member of the South End Senior Center where he enjoyed playing cards with his many friends. Besides his loving wife, Bev, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Corraccio and Mary-Beth Corraccio both of Wethersfield; a son, Joseph Corraccio and his wife, Diane of Glastonbury; four beautiful granddaughters, Megan and Gina Oliviera of Wethersfield and Heather and Carley Corraccio of Glastonbury; a sister, Josephine Karosis of Niantic; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carmella Corraccio, Joseph and Jean Bell, Richard and Frances Dunn, Jack and June Bordieri, Richard and Ellen Bell, Joseph and Donna Crossman, Roy and Ruth Bell and Charles and Andrea Mazzola as well and many nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of dear and close friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Connie Anselmo and Yolanda Cavanaugh and a brother, Anthony Corraccio. A special thank you to Eric Dana and his staff at Ellis Manor for the care, compassion and love shown to Pat and his family also a very special thank you to Dr. Stephen Ruby who gave Patsy an extra five years of life to enjoy his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. The burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford with Full Military Honors. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield.
