Patsy was born on April 25, 1934 in Hartford, CT to the late Pietro and Esterina (Monaco) DelMastro. He and Kathryn met in the 7th grade and he described that moment as being “struck by a thunderbolt”. They graduated together as proud members of the Weaver High School class of 1952. After Patsy served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, they were married on June 2, 1956. He made sure they were together for their 65th wedding anniversary on June 2, 2021. Their love was beautiful, full of happiness and served as an example to so many others, especially to their children and grandchildren.
Patsy retired in 1995, after 30 years as Chief of Survey for the Town of West Hartford’s Engineering Department. He also owned a private land surveying business for many years.
Patsy thoroughly enjoyed the pleasures of life. He loved to fish, travel, root for his beloved Red Sox, ride his red tractor around his meticulous yard and most importantly enjoyed being with his family. In 1986, Patsy and Kathryn built their second dream home in Charlestown, RI where many precious family memories were made. He was affectionately known as “Papa” to his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by them. They are his legacy, along with his strong values, empathy and compassion for others. He was an amazing role model and loved by all.
Along with his wife Kathryn, he leaves his devoted children and grandchildren; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Joseph Lamari, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Anne DelMastro.
