Paul J. Chaves

Paul J. Chaves, 36, of Hartford, son of Jose M. and Evangelina (Freitas) Chaves of Hartford, died Thursday (November 15, 2007) at Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born August 22, 1971 in Santa Maria, The Azores, Portugal and lived in Hartford and Cromwell most of his life. He was a graduate of Wethersfield High School. Paul was a Web-Site coordinator for Curtis 1000 in Newington, prior to that he was employed by the Hartford Courant. He was an avid sports fan especially the Red Sox and Miami Dolphins. Paul enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and reading. He is survived by his former wife, Deborah A. (Colasacco) Chaves and their twin daughters, Amanda and Kaitlyn Chaves of Cromwell, his brother, John Chaves and his loving partner Victoria Martinez of Wethersfield; his brother, Joe Chaves and his wife, Mariana of Cromwell; his sister, Gina Guerrera and her husband, Frank of Rocky Hill; maternal grandmother, Emilia Freitas; paternal grandmother, Adelina Chaves; nieces and nephews, Sarah, Chelsea, Jessica, Joey (Godson), Madeline and Frankie; former father- in-law and mother-in-law, Gregorio and Flora Colasacco; former brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Rita Colasacco, Lorena and Jaime Pimenta. Paul also leaves several loving aunts, uncles and cousins who were always there for him. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Jose Freitas, paternal grandfather, Jose Andrade Chaves, Tia Eugenia Chaves, Tio Antonio Braga and special cousin Billy Freitas. Funeral service will be Saturday at 8:45 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hour are Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
