Paul was born in Canicattini Bagni, Siracusa, Italy. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Mangiafico) Gallo. In his earlier years he worked as a manager at Al Franklin’s Musical World at the Hartford Civic Center. Following this, he spent his career as a supervisor at the heat treatment facility Bodycote. Paul retired in 2018.
Paul enjoyed his time with family and friends. He spent many summer days fishing on the rocks at Hammonasset Beach or practicing his swing at the golf range. He enjoyed trips to the casino and staying in Rhode Island for family vacations. Paul was especially talented in the kitchen, making his favorite meals– chicken and eggplant cutlets. He had a soft spot for family pets, especially Pepper and Sandee. Paul could most often be found playing his guitar and singing classic rock songs.
In addition to his beloved wife Mary of almost 40 years (this June), he will also be dearly missed by his daughters and their spouses; Jennifer (Nickolas Drake) and Nicole (Mathew Tuthill) all of Rocky Hill. While he far exceeded the role of dad, his greatest title was Nonno. He leaves behind his grandchildren; Phoenix, Cillian and Parker Mae. He is also survived by his sister, Lucy D’Alfonso, his sons Salvatore, Paul, and Chris, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister and brothers-in-law; Tina and Salvatore Marino and Sebastian D’Alfonso.
Please join the family in Celebrating his life on Friday, May 16, 2025. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, followed by Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Hartford.
