

Philomena “Dolly” (Rucci) Raimondi, 84, of Hartford, the beloved and devoted wife of Valentino “Andy” Raimondi for 60 years, died Monday, February 20, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born April 22, 1932, in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Pasqualina (Parente) Rucci. Dolly was a lifelong resident of Hartford and a graduate of Bulkeley High School, class of 1950. She proudly served as a Hartford Police Department dispatcher for 17 years where she assisted police officers and helped countless people until her retirement to care for her grandchildren. Before that, she was employed by Hartford National Bank. Dolly, a loving mother and grandmother, will be forever remembered for her sense of humor, kindness and generous spirit. Besides her husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Terri Raimondi O’Shea and husband Timothy of Southington, Susan Sabatelli and husband Giuseppe of Newington, and Cristina Garofalo and husband Edward of Cromwell; four adored grandchildren, Timothy, Christina, Nicholas and Kaitlyn; her brother, Biagio Rucci of Glastonbury; her sisters-in-law, Jane Rucci and Carmel Kurth, as well as several nieces and nephews, among them a very special niece, Jo-Marie Mielauskas and her husband Nick. She was predeceased by her brother, John Rucci and sisters-in-law Angeline Rucci and Theresa Riccio.
Funeral service will be Saturday (February 25) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford.
