Phyllis Vetrano

Phyllis (Ronan) Vetrano, 85, of Rocky Hill, widow of Emil Vetrano since 2009, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023, with her loving family around her. She was born in 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Philip Ronan and Lillian (Higgins) Ronan. Prior to her retirement Phyllis was a Special Education Teacher in the East Hartford Public System for over 30 years. Phyllis was an active member of St. James Church in Rocky Hill for several years. Phyllis enjoyed volunteering at Maple View Manor in the past. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially during the holidays.

Phyllis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Terrie Vetrano of Portland; her much beloved grandsons, Nicholas Vetrano of Portland; Christopher and his husband Dan Murphy of Nova Scotia, Canada, her sisters; Lillian Sullivan, Norma Rosby and her husband Thomas as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. Phyllis was also predeceased by a sister, Maureen Ronan. Please meet the family directly in church on Thursday, March 2, 2023 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, (St. James Church), 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
