Rachel Marie Romanowski (Remillard)

Rachel Marie (Remillard) Romanowski, 63, of East Haddam, beloved wife for almost 40 years of the late Bernard Peter Romanowski, Sr. passed away on Tuesday (August 20, 2013). Born on November 11, 1949 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Anne (Magnotta) Remillard. Rachel worked as an office manager in the medical field for many years. She was a member of the Essex Chamber of Commerce. She was an avid kayaker and enjoyed yoga, walking and gardening. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Rachel will be dearly missed by her two sons, Bernard P. Romanowski, Jr. and his wife Tamar Lipof of Manchester, MA and Troy T. Romanowski and his wife Sharleen of Orange; her cherished grandchild, Avital Romanowski; two sisters, Pauline Zenick of Wethersfield and Laura Marino and her husband John of Nixa, MO; brother-in-law, Peter Romanowski and his wife June of South Windsor; brother-in-law, John Mancuso and his wife Judy of Wethersfield, brother-in-law, Joe Romanowski and his wife Julie of Colchester as well as many special friends, including Art and Mason, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Roland Remillard and her brother-in-law, Nicholas Zenick, Jr.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
