Ralph Carl Schunk

Ralph Carl Sch-unk, 83, of Rocky Hill, formerly of West Hartford, beloved husband of the late Virginia (Reinke) Schunk, passed away Friday (February 4, 2011.) He was born May 16, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth (Haller) Schunk. Ralph was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Hartford Insurance Company for over 35 years. He enjoyed playing bridge and singing in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Choir in Middletown. Ralph was a very devoted father to his three sons, Ralph Schunk, Jr. and his wife Lynn Cabana of Glastonbury, Robert Schunk of Providence, RI and David Schunk of Centerbrook. Funeral services with military honors will be held Wednesday, February 9 at 11 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Calling hours will be Wednesday just prior to the service from 10–11 a.m. Burial will be private.
