Richard Daniel Maulucci

Richard Daniel Maulucci, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026 at Bel Air Manor in Newington. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on April 1, 1933, to the late Joseph and Filomena (DiVito) Maulucci.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army. A true entrepreneur and hard worker, he was the beloved owner and operator of several cherished roller-skating rinks, “The Skating Palace” with locations in Wallingford, East Hartford and Plainville. Through his work, Richard created countless memories for generations of families and took great pride in the communities he served.

Above all, Richard was devoted to his family. He was a tireless provider who worked hard throughout his life to ensure that his family was well cared for. His strong work ethic, generosity, and dedication to those he loved will be remembered by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Beverly (Monroe) Maulucci; his son, Richard Maulucci; his daughter, Donna Maulucci and her spouse, Kathleen Waldron; and five grandchildren: Brian Maulucci, Kyle Maulucci, Catherine, Miller, Brittney Miller and Alan Miller. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kim McKeown; his granddaughter Cassey Maulucci and great grandson Jason Maulucci.

Interment with military honors will be held on Saturday August 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery 1 Cottage Grove Rd. in Bloomfield. All are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
