

Richard “Rich” C. Rizzo, Jr., 65, of Wethersfield, adored husband of Rebecca (Morgan) Rizzo, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, with his wife by his side. Rich was born on May 20, 1961, in Hartford and he was the son of Richard C. Rizzo, Sr. and the late Sophie (Milkowski) Rizzo. He grew up in Wethersfield and graduated from Wethersfield High School Class of 1980. In addition, Rich graduated from Hartford Technical College with a degree in Engineering. Alongside his father, Rich owned and operated R. C. Rizzo Construction Company. He had the reputation of being a hard worker and was always available to help others. Rich was a kind and gentle soul, very easy to talk to and an excellent listener. Rich also enjoyed classic rock, going to trivia night at Parkville and weekends in upstate New York.
In addition to his wife and father, Rich is survived by his daughter Bianca Kalentkowski (Matthew), the son of his heart, Cameron, and his beautiful granddaughters Gianna and Ava. He also leaves his brothers Mark Rizzo and Nicholas Rizzo along with his ready made second family Justin, Jenna, Danielle, Dillon, grandchildren Arianna, Noah, Naya, Anthony, Jordan, Austin, Mason, GiGi, Jack and Jaxon and his great grandsons Messiah, Adonis, Tristan. Rich will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his mother, Rich was predeceased by his first wife Lucy Rizzo, sister Theresa Rizzo and nephew Carlo Rizzo.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 11 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish at Incarnation Church, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
