Richard was born in New Britain, CT, son of the late Chester A. and Anne (Quarterola) Wowak. A proud and dedicated, retired lifetime member of the IBEW Local 35 in Hartford and the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.).
He also enjoyed his time on his bike with his fellow brothers and the many trips to Laconia, and rides they would take raising money for all the causes dear to him.
He is survived by his son, Richard Wowak, Jr., and his two grandchildren: Brianna and Christian Wowak. He also leaves his life partner, Kathleen
Kawecki, her daughter Ashley Kawecki, and granddaughter Marissa Rivera, his dear sister, Janet Wowak and his niece, Rachel Ayers, her husband Daniel Ayers and daughter Zoe, along with a host of dear friends and fellow brethren.
He was also predeceased by his previous wives: Marianne (Myslak) 2018 and Alina Wowak (Falinski) 1985.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 99 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT. There will be no burial services to follow. In continuing to respect his wishes, he will be cremated.
Memorial donations may also be made to a charity near and dear to him, in his memory to: TOYS FOR TOTS.
