

Robert “Bob” Joseph Meredith, 60, of Wethersfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Bob was born in Boston, MA on June 29, 1965, the adored son of Mary (Hardiman) Meredith and the late Robert Meredith. Bob spent most of his youth in Jamaica Plain, MA, where he attended Boston Latin, becoming fond of basketball and spending time with his neighborhood friends. He later moved to Chicago, IL, where he graduated from high school. Bob was a proud graduate of Trinity College and earned his BA in Classical Studies. Bob then went on to Western New England University for his Juris Doctor in Law. He then began his life in Wethersfield. He spent his entire career working for the State of Connecticut, first as a Public Defender, and most recently as the Director of the Connecticut Innocence Project. Bob dedicated his entire career fighting for justice and for those who were underprivileged.
Bob was a devout Catholic and was a member of Christ the King Parish in Wethersfield, as well as St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church in Hartford.
Outside of work, he devoted his entire world to his two children, Alexandra Meredith and Joseph Meredith, as well as his dog, Tucker. Bob enjoyed many things in life, including UConn Basketball, the Boston Celtics, exercising, fine dining, cracking a dry joke and traveling, most recently to Greece with his two children, which he referred to as the trip of his life.
Bob was a loving father, uncle, friend and coworker. In addition to his mother Mary, he will be deeply missed and always remembered by his loving children, Alexandra Meredith and Joseph Meredith and his siblings, Lisa (Meredith) Sylvester and Michael Meredith. He is also survived by his niece, Lissette Buccheri and her husband Joseph Buccheri and their three children; his niece, Jessica Ashe and her three children; the mother of his children, Lisa Meredith, as well as countless uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Hardiman; his brother, Paul Meredith; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gilda and Michael Sullo and his brother-in-law, Michael Sullo.
Bob will be remembered with the greatest affection, respect and admiration of his family, friends and colleagues, both past and present, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
