

Rose M. Sarcione Russo, 87, of Wethersfield, entered eternal life on Sunday, (June 3, 2012). She was born in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of Luigi and Palmarosa Sarcione, and was the youngest of 11 children. She graduated from Lawrence High School and lived in Wethersfield for the past 53 years. She retired from Travelers Insurance Co. after 25 years of service and during that time she was a member of the Travelers Girls Club. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church and a member of the Corpus Christi Women's Club. Rose loved her religion which was always a big part of her life, and she proudly past her religious beliefs onto her children. She was an extremely loved and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was always her priority and her happiness. She loved being with her family and friends. She especially loved babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren. Throughout the years she enjoyed her trips to Massachusetts and California to visit with family. The last several years she was thrilled to have many visits, telephone calls, and greeting cards from her out of state family members. She loved to reminisce of the wonderful times she had growing up in Lawrence with her loving parents, family, and friends. Rose was an avid and proud Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She was thrilled to see the Red Sox win the 2004 World Series. In the past 21 years she became a fan of women's basketball. In addition to sports, she loved music especially the opera. Either going to live performances or listening to her opera collection at home. She was a true patriot, extremely proud of her country and of being an American. Rose is survived by her devoted children, son, Andrew Russo and his wife Beth, her son Luca Russo, all of Wethersfield, her daughter, Lucy (Russo) and her husband Richard Bean of Wethersfield; five adored grandchildren: Joyce Valentukonis, Andrew and Christina Russo, and Steven and Gina Bean, three great-grandchildren: Nyanna Rose Bean and Landon and Logan Valentukonis; her brother, Albert Sarcione, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters: Emilia Sarcione, Vincenza Leone, Lillian Leotta, Evelyn Gentile, and brothers: Arthur, Louis, Ecolino, William, and Angelo Sarcione.
Funeral services will leave on Saturday (June 9) at 10:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
