Salvatore Cassarino

Salvatore Cassarino, (90), of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 63 years of Maria (Pinuccia) (Cultrera) Cassarino, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (August 27, 2013) surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 4, 1922 in Canicattini Bagni, province of Siracusa, Sicily, he was the son of the late Michele and Lucia (Randazzo) Cassarino. He was a veteran of the Italian Army and worked for the Hartford Faience Company. Salvatore enjoyed soccer, dancing and spending time with his family. In addition to his devoted wife Maria, he will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lucy Macchi and her husband Frank, who he loved like a son, of Wethersfield; his grandchildren, Lisa Baribault and her husband Lewis of Glastonbury and Alessandro Macchi of Rocky Hill and his great-grandson, Lewis Baribault, IV, who was the joy of his life.

Funeral services will leave on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Entombment will be in Italy. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
