Salvatore Zocco

Salvatore Zocco, 86, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband for almost 60 years of the late Lucia (Uccello) Zocco, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026 with his loving family by his side. Born in Canicattini Bagni, Italy on July 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Paolo and Santa (Bordonaro) Zocco.

Salvatore and his wife, Lucia, enjoyed a wonderful life together, forever devoted to each other and their two sons, Paul and Enzo Zocco. In 1971, they decided to leave their home in Sicily and moved to Hartford before moving to Rocky Hill in 1981. Salvatore was a dedicated employee of Stanadyne for many years, retiring in 1998 with over 25 years of dedicated service. Salvatore enjoyed playing soccer in his youth and was a lifelong soccer fan of the “Azzuri” Italian professional soccer team.

Salvatore was a loving father and grandfather, and will be forever missed by his two sons, Paul Zocco and wife Annamaria of Wethersfield and Enzo Zocco and wife Jeanette of Cromwell and his four adored grandsons, Paul Michael, Mark, Michael and Danny, along with his three nieces, Tina, Sandy and Lucia. In addition to his wife and parents, Salvatore was predeceased by his two brothers, Sebastiano and Antonino; his sister, Concettina Gionfriddo; his brother-in-law, Antonino Gionfriddo and his sister-in-law, Vicenzina Zocco. A special thanks to Tina and Sandy for their unwavering love and support through his most difficult days.

Calling hours will be Friday, September 18th from 9-10:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. James Church of St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
