Sandra Bazzano

Sandra Joyce (Laban) Bazzano, 79, of Rocky Hill and Las Vegas, beloved wife of Thomas Bazzano passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026. Sandra was born on February 7, 1947, in Hartford and was the daughter of the late T. Joseph and Dorothy (Scully) Laban. Sandra was raised in Newington and graduated from Newington High School.

Sandra was the owner and operator of Sandra’s Salon of Beauty, for over ten years. During her career she built many relationships and often her clients became friends. She later worked for the Wethersfield School System as a Media Aide where she devoted her time helping students with the latest computer technology. She and her husband were fortunate enough to go on more than fifteen cruises including multiple cruises to Europe and the Caribbean as well as Alaska, Australia and New Zealand. One of her most exciting moments was on her second cruise when she won a BMW on a two-cent slot machine. Sandra loved New England, but she especially enjoyed the past 15 years living in Las Vegas.

In addition to her husband, of 57 years, Sandra will be dearly missed by her son, James R. Bazzano and his wife Michelle, her grandchildren, Zoe, Luke and Ben, along with her brother Richard Laban and his wife Karen.

Along with her parents she was predeceased by her brothers James Laban and Robert Laban.

Sandra’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the following organizations and individuals who provided care for Sandra over the past several months. Pansy Homecare especially most recently Elizabette, the staff at the Residence at Ferry Park especially Stephanie and the Brighton Hospice Staff, especially Janelle and Amanda.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel following the calling hours. Burial will be private and at a later date.
