Santo Buccheri

Santo Buccheri, 79, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 60 years of Brigida (LaRosa) Buccheri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Born on December 22, 1937 in Canicattini Bagni, Italy, he was the son of the late Sebastiano and Lucia (Cugno) Buccheri. Santo moved to the USA in 1958 and he resided in Hartford for many years prior to moving to Wethersfield. Santo was a talented mason working in the construction field for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Italian American Stars and Canicattini Society both of Hartford where he enjoyed the friendship of many. Santo had a passion for fishing with his sons and especially enjoyed working in his garden. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Santo will be forever missed by his beloved wife Bicia (Brigida); his four children, Lucy Capasso and husband Mario of Wethersfield, Tina Capasso and husband Pino of Glastonbury, Sebby Buccheri and wife Maryann of West Hartford and Paul Buccheri of Wethersfield. Santo also leaves his 11 adored grandchildren, Christine, Melissa, Tony, Stephanie, Jessica, Brianna, Sebby Jr., Vanessa, Santo, Makayla and Paulie and his 3 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke and Sophia, they love and will miss their Nonno very much. In addition he leaves behind his many nieces, nephews and friends. Santo was predeceased by his sister, Lucia Zocco. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver Luz for her undivided attention and dedication to Santo’s care during his time of need. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6th at 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends TONIGHT, from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday from 9-10 a.m. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
