

Santo LaRosa, 83, of West Hartford, loving husband of Carmen (Albani) LaRosa for 47 years, died Thursday, (June 17, 2011) at home with his family by his bedside. He was born January 15, 1928 in Canicattini Bagni province of Siracusa, Sicily and was the son of the late Salvatore LaRosa and Antonia Maria Agnello. He owned and operated the former Liberty Welding Company in Hartford for 35 years. He was a longtime member of the Canicattinese Society in Hartford and served as president several times. He was formerly a member of the Italian American Stars. Besides his wife he is survived by a brother, Sebby LaRosa and a sister, Maria Romano and husband, Andre all of Farmington, a sister, Josie Leniart and husband, John of Wethersfield, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Anthony Longo of Wethersfield and John and Anna Albani of Pompano Beach, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews and many dear and close friends among them are special neighbors, Erica, Judy and Kathy. A very special thank you to the VNA Hospice, especially Tammie and Dee for the care, love and compassion shown to Santo and his family.
Funeral Service will be Monday (June 20) at 10:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hour will be Monday morning from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
