

Sebastiana (Privizzini) Frasca, 96, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late John Frasca, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (May 12, 2010) at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 18, 1913, in Hartford the daughter of the late Paul and Michelina (Ricupero) Privizzini and spent her childhood years in Siracusa, Italy. It was in Italy that Sebastiana learned the craft of designing and sewing clothing. Upon her return to Hartford, she was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed designing and creating clothes for her family and friends. She worked at Lombardi Brothers, a dress company located in Hartford. A devout Catholic, Sebastiana was a faithful communicant of St. Luke's Church, Hartford. Upon retirement, Sebastiana was active in the South End Senior Center where she was involved with knitting and crocheting prayer shawls, hats and mittens for children. She enjoyed gardening, growing and, nurturing flowers and vegetables from seeds to beautiful flowers and prize-winning vegetables. She was a sweet woman with an infectious smile who passionately loved her grandchildren and taught them the values of family love, commitment, and compassion for others. Sebastiana is survived by her children, Thomas Frasca and his wife, Barbara of Wethersfield; Robert Frasca of Hartford, with whom she made her home; and her loving daughter, Norma Fasano and her husband, Anthony of Glastonbury. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Dr. John T. Frasca and his wife, Barbara of Medfield, MA; Deborah L. Frasca and her husband, John of Spokane, WA; Dr. Dominic R. Frasca of Savage, MD; Karen H. Oates and her husband Michael, of Brookline, MA; Laura Bonanno and her husband, Steven of Concord, MA; Stephen Fasano and his wife, Elisa of Chapel Hill, NC; and Susan Sperry and her husband James, of Westford, MA; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Pina Fanelli. Funeral services will leave Saturday May 15 at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke's Church, Hartford. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 ? 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
