Sebastiana "Nella" A. Gulino

Sebastiana A. “Nella” Gulino, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Sebastiano “Patsy” Gulino, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in Canicattini Bagni, Italy, with her loving son by her side. Nella was born on January 16, 1940, in Derna, Libya. She was the daughter of the late Paolo and Maria (Costanzo) Amenta. Nella was a hard worker; she and her husband owned and operated Buon Appetito and the Skywalk Restaurant in Hartford for 27 years. They had a great reputation for welcoming customers into their restaurant, where they were treated like family while served delicious meals. After her retirement, Nella and her husband Patsy spent many beautiful summers gardening on their farm in Sicily, where they cultivated the earth and shared their bounty with family and friends.

Nella’s true love was for her family; she was a devoted wife and mother who will truly be missed by her son Paolo Gulino and his wife Pina of Wethersfield. She will be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Sebastiano, Alessandro and Gabriella Gulino. She will also be missed by her loving and devoted sister and best friend, Tina Farina, along with her children Tony and his wife Merideth Farina, and Angela and her husband Dean Taylor.

Nella was predeceased by her mother, Maria Amenta; her sister Lucia Amenta; her husband Sebastiano “Patsy” Gulino; her loving daughter Lucia Gulino; and her favorite brother-in-law, Antonio Farina.

Paul and Pina would like to extend a special thanks to Lucy and Pina Ficara and the complete staff at Lucy Casa di Riposo, where Nella was known as “Zia” to everyone. Also, a special thank you to Joe and Cornelia Spina for the devotion and love they showed to Nella in our absence. We love and thank you for all you did. Also, a special thank you to all the nieces and nephews in Italy who constantly went to visit, help, and watch over her.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. The funeral service will leave the funeral chapel at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6 for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
