

Steven Yatrousis, Archon Exarchos, of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 54 years of the late Melpo (Sterianou) Yatrousis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2016. Born in Hartford on April 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Gregory and Sophia (Klidaras) Yatrousis. Steven was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a faithful communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford and served many years on the Parish Council including multiple terms as President. He was also a member of St. George’s Seniors. A loving father and grandfather, Steven will be dearly missed by his devoted sons, Gregory Yatrousis and his wife Maureen of Wethersfield and Dean Yatrousis of Melbourne, FL, and his three adored grandchildren, Mary, Nicole and Steven Yatrousis. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Steven’s wonderful caregivers, whose kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday (January 14) at 10 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. with a Trisagion service at 4:30 p.m at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
