Susan (caracciolo) Parente

Susan 'Susie' (Caracciolo) Parente, 87, of Wethersfield, formerly of Hartford, loving wife of Fiore A. Parente of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday (May 24, 2010) at Hartford Hospital. She was born August 15, 1922 in Hartford to the late Joseph and Laura (Ianfrancesco) Caracciolo. She was formerly employed by Connecticut Bank & Trust Co. Susie was an avid reader, had great faith in God and was a devoted wife and mother who loved to please her family with her great cooking and helping hand at family gatherings. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Robert Cherry of Wethersfield and Susan and Tony Castagna of Coventry and one son, Andrew Parente of Hartford; her sister, Rose Caracciolo; grandchildren, Suzanne Kiniry, Gina Alderucci and husband Marc, Lauren Frisbie and husband Rick and Christina Castagna and fiancée Mark; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kayse, Ariyana, Ricky, Gianna, Mia and Keirra, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Theresa Pavano, Mary Parente and Fred Caracciolo. Susie's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care staff and VNA Hospice at Hartford Hospital for their compassion and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (May 27) at 12 p.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends may call prior to the mass from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Donations in Susie's memory may be made to the Wethersfield Police Dept.
