Theresa (Guarnaccia) Evans

Theresa (Guarnaccia) Evans, 98, of Wake Forest, NC, formerly of Hartford and Rocky Hill, died on December 20, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late W. Frank Evans. Theresa was born on March 19, 1916 to the late Joseph and Marietta (Camilleri) Guarnaccia. She lived in Hartford until moving to Rocky Hill in 1972. She subsequently moved to Raleigh, NC, in 2005 to live near her son. A graduate of Bulkeley High School, she worked at Sage Allen Co., and then at Travelers Insurance Co. until retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Travelers Womens' Club and Travelers Retiree Club. Theresa was a communicant of St. James church of Rocky Hill. She leaves her son, Gary J. Evans of Franklinton, NC, and two grandchildren, Nathaniel W. Evans and Eowyn W. Evans. She also leaves three grand nephews, Dennis, Jason and Christopher Leigh and also her close friend, Angie Broncato. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Thomas and Daniel Guarnaccia, her sister Roserie Leigh, and her dear nephew Dennis Leigh. Theresa's family would like to thank the staff at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wake Forest, NC, for the excellent care that they provided to Theresa in her last years. Theresa was always quick to smile and made new friends easily. We will deeply miss her welcoming presence and her deep devotion and love for her family. Funeral services will leave on Monday (December 29) at 9:15 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends and family may gather on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
