Thomas Arthur Chapman, 87, of Rocky Hill, devoted husband to Anne (Miano), peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Tom, born on May 28, 1936, was raised in New London, son to the late Otis and Margaret. He graduated New London High School, Class of 1954, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree at UCONN. Tom was employed by Aetna Life and Casualty for 30 plus dedicated years as a commercial underwriter. He served as a Staff Sgt. in the US Army Reserves. Tom and Anne traveled extensively in North America, Europe, and China. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and UCONN Basketball, especially the women’s team.
Dad will be deeply missed by his three children, Susan (Scott), Thomas, and Michael, and an adored granddaughter Melissa, as well as by his brother, David (Eleanor) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his close in-laws, Salvatore, Lucy, and Lucille. Thomas and his family will be forever thankful for wonderful care at Middlesex Hospital.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Wednesday, November 8, at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield from 9:15 – 10:15am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation of Christ the King Parish, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield, Interment will follow the Mass in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery (Section S), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association.
