

Tommaso Sciucco, 92, of Wethersfield and formerly Hartford, beloved husband for 63 years of the late Ida (Marra) Sciucco, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Born in Colli, province of Frosinone, Italy on April 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Sante and Cristina (Ferretti) Sciucco. Tommaso and Ida married in Italy in 1955. They came to the U.S. in 1963 and settled in Hartford to raise their family. A talented chef, Tommaso worked at Dino’s Italian Kitchen in West Hartford for 25 years and then Hartford Hospital for 15 years before retiring.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Tommaso will be forever missed by his three children, Sal Sciucco and wife Angela of Middletown, Maria Zimei and husband Alfredo of Bolton and Anna Sierra of Wethersfield, with whom he made his home; six adored grandchildren, Melisa Preuss, Michael Zimei, Thomas, Christina and David Sciucco and Alexander Sierra and six cherished great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Juliana Zimei, Luke, Blake and Gia Preuss and Summit Sciucco. He is also survived by his sister, Luigia Negron of Puerto Rico; his brother, Arnaldo Sciucco of Rocky Hill and many extended family members. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Sergio Sciucco and his son-in-law, Francisco Sierra, Jr.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 19 from 9:15-11:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford.
