

Tony Ferraro, 70, of Wethersfield, passed away suddenly on Saturday (November 17, 2007), at Hartford Hospital. He was born December 13, 1936 in Hartford and was the son of the late Alexander and Rose (Ferrera) Ferraro. He was a graduate of Hartford Public High School and Widener College formerly Pennsylvania Military College. Tony was employed by the State of Connecticut, D.O.T. over 30 years. He was a referee and an umpire for youth softball leagues in the area and also worked for the Wethersfield Parks and Recreation Department. Tony will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Carole (Benton) Ferraro, two sons, Alexander A. Ferraro and Anthony Ferraro, Jr. as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Stevens and Catherine Zigman. Funeral Service will be held Saturday November 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield. The burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Friday November 23 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
