Valerie (Soblen) Lennon

Valerie (Soblen) Lennon, 86 of Wethersfield, loving and devoted wife of the late Matthew S. “Bud” Lennon, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 4, 2017 with her family by her bedside. She was born August 16, 1930 in New York, New York and was the daughter of the late William and Stephanie (Bartkow) Soblen. Valerie was an Administrative Secretary with the State of Connecticut until her retirement. She was a longtime faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church, a Winding Brook 4-H Club leader, enjoyed knitting and loved daisy flowers. In addition, Valerie loved her casino trips and listening to the music of her favorite artists. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her three daughters, Lorri Lennon of Wethersfield, Patricia L. Murray and her husband, John of Vernon, Deborah Borea and husband, Claudio of Wethersfield. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Theresa Murray, Kevin Murray and wife, Sylvia, Michael Borea and wife, Azure, Daniel Borea and Christopher Borea, and her great granddaughter, Alexandra Murray. She also leaves her sister, Sandra Lembo of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by the family pet, Molly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Please go directly to the church. The burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield.
