

Vincent Lantieri, 95, of Hartford, loving husband of the late Anne (Zito) Lantieri for 57 years, died Thursday, (June 24, 2010). He was born in Palazzolo, Acreide, Sicily, January 14, 1915 and was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Golino) Lantieri. Vincent was the former owner of Lantieri's Bakery, formerly on Front Street in Hartford, retiring after 50 years. He was also Vice President of the Southend Mutual Benefit Association (SEMBA), aka 'The Oxy' for 30 years. Vincent was also partners with Michael 'Momo' Avecino in A&L Stables. Over the years, their stables raced thoroughbreds in New England, New York state and Maryland. He enjoyed spending his spare time traveling to the casino and playing cards with his close friends. Vincent is survived by his son, Salvatore V. Lantieri and wife, Marilyn of Wethersfield; his grandson, Vincent Lantieri and wife, Wendy of West Palm Beach, FL; his granddaughter, Cynthia (Lantieri) Zuerblis and husband, William of Wethersfield; four great-granddaughters, U.S. Air Force Airman Nicole Zuerblis of San Antonio, TX, Amanda, Sarah and Zoey Lantieri and his great-grandson, Dylan Zuerblis. He also leaves behind two best friends, Daniel Schiavone and Anthony Crivellone. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Wethersfield Health Care Center and a special thank you to nurse Lori and aide Audrey. Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.
