Born in Alcofra, District of Viseu, Portugal on January 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Custódio and Albertina (De Jesus) Rodrigues. After marrying, Virgilio moved to the United States with his wife Maria to begin a new life together. They followed their dream, becoming property owners while raising their son William.
