

Vito Anthony ""Tony"" DeNovellis, 75, of Rocky Hill, passed away at peace with God on Wednesday (January 16, 2013). He was the beloved husband of Jean (Capasso) DeNovellis for 53 years. Born June 29, 1937 in Caramanico Terme, Abbruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Victor and Josephine (Sanelli) DeNovellis. In 1950, Tony and family immigrated to Hartford. He graduated from the Hartford Trade School in 1955 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut in 1960. He served six years in the Air National Guard. His career path began as a physical therapist at St. Francis Hospital. For several years, Jean and Tony owned and operated a rest home in East Berlin. He then worked as a pharmaceutical representative with Abbott Laboratories. In 1970, Tony founded Triangle Agency Real Estate and Insurance Company, which later expanded to become Associated Insurance Consultants. He was a successful property manager, real estate broker and insurance broker for 42 years. Tony was a devout Catholic whose faith and family were most precious to him. He served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. John Church in Cromwell. Tony loved skiing, playing the accordion, dancing, camping and the beach. He enjoyed reading books on religion, health, fitness and current events. He never shied away from a healthy debate with friends and family. Along with his wife, he leaves behind his four children: Marc of Rocky Hill, Craig of Newington, Tina Pitruzzello and husband Gregory of Cromwell, and Bryan and his wife Cathy of Old Bridge, NJ; his eight grandchildren: Nichole, Daniella, Julia, Talya, Jayson, Emmi, Naomi and Justin; siblings, Lucia and husband Antonio Cappellucci of Wethersfield, Rose and Francis DeLisa of Newington, Mario and Donna DeNovellis of Rocky Hill; sister-in-law, Peggy Long of Newington and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell. Everyone is invited to go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
